About this experience
Nestled in Kien Hung, Ha Dong, Hanoi, the small but prestigious village of Da Sy has a long-standing history of forging professions.
Historically, two blacksmith ancestors of the profession—Nguyen Thuat and Nguyen Thuan—came to the village several hundred years ago and taught forging techniques to the locals. During the Vietnam War, the village was the main source of support for the Vietnamese military. However, when peace returned to Vietnam, the locals returned to making agricultural implements such as ploughs, rakes, etc.
