Shek Mun IRREGULart - Exotic Mosaic Workshop | Coaster | Photo Frame | Candle Holder | Table Lamp | Moon Lamp

IRREGULart proudly presents its "Exotic" Mosaic series. Translated from MOSAIC, it originally refers to delicate decorations assembled using inlaid methods. It is an art form expressed by applying colored inserts such as small stones, shells, tiles, and glass to create patterns on walls or floors. Originating in Ancient Greece, early cave dwellers used various marbles to pave the ground to make floors sturdier and more durable; the earliest mosaics evolved and developed on this basis.

Today, the materials available for making mosaics are more diverse and flexible than ever. From traditional marble, small pebbles, glass bricks, pottery shards, porcelain shards, and enamel, to any everyday materials you can use, such as buttons, tableware, or stationery. In this era of high industrial technology, glass-like inlay pieces made of gold and silver can also be mass-produced.

IRREGULart's "Exotic" mosaic materials are diverse, offering options such as photo frames, candle holders, desk lamps, gooseneck lamps, Aladdin's magic lamps, moon lamps, and more. Additionally, students can bring their own vessels to class to give them a brand-new look, granting home goods a second life. By using simple techniques on meaningful old items, we can revive their popularity, enhance their presence, and add meaning to eco-friendly thematic creation. Students complete everything from material selection to design entirely by themselves, finally bringing their finished works home to add a touch of ritual to their lives.
