Kyoto: Noh Theater Experience, World Intangible Cultural Heritage
About this experience
This is a special opportunity to learn the techniques of Noh theater, refined in Kyoto, which was the capital of Japan for 1000 years, from a teacher who studied under a Living National Treasure.
While conversing with the teacher, you will carefully learn how to use Noh props, how to chant, and how to use your posture and body. After the practice, on a unique Japanese cypress stage, the teacher will put a Noh mask on you, and you will practice acting, such as suriashi (sliding steps). You can record yourself with your smartphone. Please visit "Encounter" sgoo and experience something more than just watching or visiting. We offer a wonderful experience where you can become one with the history of Kyoto.
